TRIANGLE TO-DO: PEAKFEST! Tomorrow, Saturday, May 2 in Downtown Apex.

One of the Triangle’s most historic corners is celebrating 35 years of … well, celebrating.

Apex’s 35th Annual Peakfest will be held tomorrow, Saturday May 2.

The annual event is held along Downtown Apex’s historic Salem St. from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Naturally, there will be loads of food, music, arts & crafts, street entertainers, and just about everything a kid would want to tug on his mom’s sleeve to get.

In essence, Peakfest is a town carnival, without the pricey tickets or rides with questionable structural integrity. It started primarily as a place for local artisans to showcase and sell their skills, and they remain an integral component to the event. It’s a great place to find unique items for the home, gifts, and superb southern artistry.

The Triangle is blessed with a number of these town celebrations, such as Cary’s Lazy Daze. However, if you haven’t been to Apex lately, this gives you all the reason you need.
