One of the great things about the Triangle is that despite its enormous growth over the last two decades, regional leaders have managed to maintain an exceptional balance between construction and lifestyle. That is, we still have so much great outdoor space within a few minutes drive of every major living corridor. Mountain bike parks. Places to paddleboard. Forested hiking. Dog parks. And tons of open water.

Continuing the trend of maintaining this very important lifestyle balance is the town of Morrisville, situated between Cary and Research Triangle Park. The Town announced recently that it will invest in upgrades for Morrisville Community Park and finish two somewhat delayed facilities. One of them, 25-acre Church Street Park, is expected to open early next year. It will hold the Triangle’s only regulation Cricket pitch (field) and several tennis courts.

“We can expect this growing segment of our area to soon compete with Apex and Holly Springs as another bedroom community with more than enough living room.”

Northwest Valley Park will soon open in the Breckenridge community.

Each of the parks will offer plenty of open space, as well as walking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and public restrooms.

Plans are also underway to expand the town’s Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Morrisville is not a big town, but it’s a very nice place to live. It has excellent access, probably the best in the Triangle, to RTP and Cary’s primary commercial centers. The homes are very reasonably priced and the inventory is as varied as its population. With more parks and a concerted effort by municipal leaders to keep pushing Morrisville into the vernacular of pending North Carolina residents, we can expect this growing segment of our area to soon compete with Apex and Holly Springs as another bedroom community with plenty of┬áliving room.
