Raleigh #1 Place to Live in America: Businessweek
We just can’t get enough of these “greatest places to live” accolades, can we?
Of course not. And nor should we.
Raleigh was named by Bloomberg/Businessweek as the #1 City in America. Our concentration of notable universities, great schools and affordable housing continues to help raise us to the top of this important national list. Each time one of these is published, the entire Triangle gets a positive boost in promotion, helping it become more attractive to relocating businesses and the skilled workers and families that follow them.
All the lifestyle options are obviously important, too. The weather, access to outdoor areas and slew of terrific event centers are also heavy contributors to the entire Triangle’s reputation.
Other cities in the state were also in the top 50: Winston-Salem: 46; Durham: 37; Greensboro: 31; and Charlotte: 20.
Congratulations should also go out to the number of civic leaders in the region that continue to lead Raleigh and the other Triangle-area communities into these rankings. They are clearly doing the right things.
