Heritage Pines community offers active adults a small-town atmosphere

If you have older family members visiting Cary during the holidays who may be interested in taking up permanent residence, have them arrange a visit to Heritage Pines, the Triangle’s first “country-club” retirement community.
Heritage Pines is located close to Hwy. 55, off of Carpenter Upchurch Rd., just south of Morrisville Parkway. It is close to RTP and has easy access to every road that leads to whatever a resident may want to do in the Triangle.
The hub of all community activity is the clubhouse, which holds a fitness facility, library, kitchen, craft room, card room and a number of public multi-purpose gathering areas.
Unlike many of the Triangle’s larger communities, Heritage Pines offers all the sameĀ amenitiesĀ in a more intimate setting and allows its residents to be the heart of the neighborhood. Every month, community members are arranging dinners, entertainment events, club meetings and activities, breakfasts, ice cream socials and pool side pizza parties.
Still, that is not to say Heritage Pines itself doesn’t offer plenty to do. Their is a heated pool and spa and its recreation center provides a bocce court, tennis, horseshoes and of course, shuffleboard. Their is also the weekly Friday Happy Hour and many of the residents come together to plan group travel events, often arranging trips to Europe, Hawaii and other exotic locales.
Like any Cary-based active adult community, members have an array of amenities in the immediate area, such as the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, the Durham Performing Arts Center and North Carolina’s outstanding beaches, as well countless restaurants, parks and community attractions.
So if a smaller, people-focused active retirement community is on a family member’s wish list this year, check out Cary’s Heritage Pines.
