Your weekend is planned: The Apex Jazz Fest is Saturday, 9/17

Downtown Apex, which we shared a bit about last week, will host this weekend the first annual Apex Jazz Festival.
More than just music, the festival will be filling Salem Street with an array of activities like an open mic stage; vendors at an all-day farmer’s market (beginning at 7:00 a.m.); and an outdoor fashion show, also outside. Stores will be open with sales and the sidewalks will be jammed with folks from all over the Triangle.
Headlining the event is Quintessence, a self-described “little big band” that brings “the powerful and cohesive sound of a full jazz big band sound but the spontaneity and looseness of a small group.” Other artists performing throughout the day include second headliner Shana Tucker, as well as Bill Mann, Nate Robertson and Gary Brunotto, among others.
There are two tickets available. TheĀ Gold pass, $20.00, provides access to all events, shows and the headline act, Quintessence and Shana Tucker, which is being held at the Halle Performing Arts Center from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Silver ticket for $10.00 is for all events and shows except the main event.
Tickets and more information can be found on the Apex Jazz Fest website.
See you Saturday!
