New Inside Wade community should appeal to Triangle home buyers

Inside Wade is located at Wade Avenue and I-40 in Raleigh

An exciting new neighborhood is officially underway in a location that may very well make it one of the most popular to be built in the last number of years. Inside Wade, a Lennar Homes project, will bring more than 300 single-family homes to the corner of I-40 and Wade Avenue in Raleigh, essentially straddling the city’s border with Cary.

The homes, emanating from the company’s Wainwright and Draper portfolios, will be part of a larger mixed-use community called simply, Wade, which will also be home to a contemporary apartment complex and retail center. The project has been slated for building for years but like many others in the Triangle, was slowed by the recession and slower demand.

Most can expect a community similar in concept to Brier Creek in North Raleigh, although somewhat smaller, where the apartment communities are strategically separated from the single-family neighborhoods. This offers more privacy to homeowners while still fostering a communal, pedestrian environment.

The groundbreaking of Inside Wade furthers the argument that despite national trends, the Triangle housing market is emerging from recessionary doldrums.

The location will provide residents with outstanding access to major freeways and both Cary and Raleigh. And surely the presence of the apartment community will stimulate the development of additional retail beyond that which is already planned. Other nearby amenities include the RBC Center, NC State’s Carter-Finley stadium, Cardinal-Gibbons High School and a number of adjacent office properties. (Many residents may very well be able to walk and bike to work.) Umstead State Park is also a short drive from Inside Wade.

Like many Lennar homes, those within Inside Wade will feature a number of options not found in other standard single-family houses, like granite, higher-ceilings, hardwood floors and additional “flex rooms.” Prices will start in the $230,000 range and end in the $300s for houses larger than 3,100 square feet.

Inside Wade will also have townhomes available, many of which will start below $170,000.

Pre-sale homes are available now and many will be move-in ready by late August. Please let us know if this is a location that appeals to you. We expect it to become a popular location in very little time.
